Browse this site and learn about Canada’s most successful Alumni Band - the Preston Scout House Alumni Band.
Today’s Alumni Band is an award-winning crowd favourite in parades, concerts and field show presentations across Southern Ontario, Quebec and through the north-eastern and midwestern American states.
The original Preston Scout House Band earned an enviable and deserved reputation for excellence. It was referred to as Canada’s Famous Scout House Bugle Band. The Canadian Oxford Dictionary defines “famous” as follows:
famous - celebrated, well-known
Since the coming together of a small group of former Scout House bandsmen who organized themselves into the Scout House Alumni Drill Team and Colour Guard for the 1994 meeting of the Great Alliance of Seniors (GAS); that effort has evolved and developed into the 100 + strong, Preston Scout House Alumni Band, The Band plays a repertoire of familiar melodies as it strives each year to be more “well-known” and “celebrated” by its ever-growing fan base.

For a real treat, plan to attend the Preston (Cambridge, ON) Canada Day Parade on July 1st. The Scout House Alumni Band is always the final unit in its hometown parade. For this parade, all members of the Band’s Colour Guard carry the national flag - the Canadian Maple Leaf. It is a rousing, inspiring and feel-good site to see a flood of Maple Leaf banners lead the Band down King Street and into Riverside Park.
