2011 Program

scout-house-july-28-042Parade, concert and field show crowd favourites include many popular Scout House selections from the past including “The Waterloo  Fanfare”, “Waltzing Matilda” complete with a ringing Glockenspiel introduction, “OKLAHOMA!”,  “Wish Me Luck” and “The Wayward Wind”.  The popular “If My Friends Could See Me Now” is this year’s show opener.

For 2011, the up-tempo concert presentation of the classic swing tune, Benny Goodman’s “Sing, Sing, Sing” arranged by the Blue Coats Dave McKinnon will be featured.

A crowd-pleasing highlight at every Preston Scout House Alumni Band performance is a slick percussion solo that showcases the adept stick work and showmanship of the Band’s talented drumline – swinging tenor drummers included.

The schedule for appearances is posted and kept up to date on this website so visit again and see where we’re at so you can be where we’re to.  Of special note … The Alumni Band will host its own evening show this summer on August 20th at University Stadium in Waterloo.  The Optimist Alumni. The United Alumni Senior Drum and Bugle Corps from Simcoe and the Kingston Grenadiers are already confirmed for this event.

If you are an event organizer in your community, why not have the Scout House Alumni Band perform at your community festival, homecoming, parade, fair or exhibition. Stand still concerts, a parade and a full field show (need a football field) are all possibilities.  Please phone our Activities Co-ordinator – Nancy Weiler (519) 653-3376 for availability and pricing.
