Thank you Elizabeth for your good camera work.
The Preston Scout House Alumni Band was the final marching unit in its “hometown” Canada Day parade. The full Alumni Band was an impressive site “on parade” across and along King Street (Preston Town Centre).

A couple of folks who saw the Alumni Band perform at Oktoberfest were kind enough to forward the following compliments:
My wife and I caught your performance at The Aud and it was excellent! On the street you only get a small example of the talent you have within the group.
In the hall you could hear the whole band at once and it was very good. Please thank the members of your Great Band.
Thanks again,
Gary Jenkins
Hello there,
I grew up in southwestern Ontario during the 50s. Since my father (Ragnar
Steen, from Ridgetown) was a bandmaster, we attended all sorts of tattoos
and of course were very familiar with the Preston Scout House band.
That seems like a million years ago now, and I’ve long ago lost touch with
the marching band scene in Ontario. But this morning, I happened to catch a
few minutes of the Oktoberfest parade on TV, and there was your Alumni band
marching past.
So I just had to write to say good for all of you for continuing the proud
tradition. You sounded great – and you made me think that maybe I should
pull my clarinet out of mothballs, get my lip back, and find some people my
age to play and march with!
Best wishes to all of you,
Karin Ragna Steen
